I am hopeful, yet skeptical.
I am valient, yet afraid.
Many nights I spent in deep thought,
many nights I prayed.
I am triumphant, yet defeated.
I am exultant yet sad.
I long for a love that lasts,
I long for that which I have not
had.
I am egar, yet apprehensive.
I am tranquil, yet tense. I have not felt
the feeling of a real love, none that I
have sensed.
I am confident, yet mystified,
I am content yet let down.
Sometimes I am able to keep
my head above water, other times I drown.
I am grateful yet unappreciative.
I am fervent, yet faint.
I have watch my friends meet
their companions, I guess I
just have to wait.

This poem depicts the mixed emotions of both loving, and waiting or anticipating to be loved. Many times, conflicting emotions co-exsist with in ourselves.
