The Lonely Woman
Quiet is the house by the railroad.
The people will scatter
Once they hear the rats clatter.
Sh! Don’t wake the woman
She gets very little peace.
Choo! Choo! The train blares.
Her cold eyes are no longer glued shut.
She perches herself on an old wooden chair
Watching
and
Conspiring.
How will she get rid of the train?
Bang! The old whittled door collapses.
Crash! The aged wood of the roof
Caves in.
As the train’s infuriating siren
Grows closer
The woman's anger increases.
No one would visit the woman.
She sat alone
Everyday.
Not even a thought would cross anyone's mind.
The house by the railroad grew quiet.
Red had spattered onto the wall
Flowing down the matured wallpaper
In a stream.
Leaving the train to be the only sound left.
