Save Me
I am the Amazon, ancient and wise
With secrets and treasures beyond your eyes
I am home to creatures big and small
A paradise for thoughts to heed my call
But now my heart is bleeding red
As greedy men dig deep for gold instead
Their machines tear through my flesh and bone
Leaving scars and wounds that may never atone
They poison my rivers with toxic waste
Leaving death and destruction in their haste
My trees are falling one by one
As they relentlessly search for the precious sun
I cry out in pain, but no one seems to hear
As they plunder my riches year after year
My children, my animals, flee in fear
As their homes disappear
Oh, how I long for days of old
When my beauty was valued more than gold
But now, I am a commodity
To be exploited by those who show no mercy
Yet I still hope for a brighter tomorrow
Where my life and those depended on me, are no longer in sorrow
Where the greed for gold is replaced by a love for me
And my treasures are cherished for all to see.
