Paper thin pizza crust melts in your mouth

Soul warming marinara beats all from down south

Hot and ready in less than thirty

Man shouts my name so it can be heard by me

Grease drips down like a leaky faucet

Slow but regular, well worth the cost. It

Fills stomachs of families who’ve traveled far

By train, ferry, plane or uber car

Cheese so melted it stretches out broad

Eat it so fast you almost burn your tongue.

The loud noise doesn’t change whether inside or out

Of the corner pizzeria on tenth and south

White paper plate soaks up hot grease

Hold your face close to feel the heat

Cold outside bundled in layers

Breath in an aroma of tomato and basil

Look up to the sky not a single star

Only twinkles of buildings which tower up far

Flavor sings to my heart in a harmonious song

I could stand here all night long.

Pizza has always been one of my favorite foods, especially when it's thin crust. Enjoy my ode to New York style pizza.
