driving past the lake and missing you
wishing you were here to get us through
every up and every down and no
one I want around
but you
I miss when we were face to face
your smile always full of grace
never will that be replaced
that’s true
wishing you could see
the life you gave to me
forever I’ll believe
you’re by my side
every night when I pray
hoping I hear you say
“I watch over you every day
I’m here”
brave and strong how hard you fought
everything you ever taught
never had I ever thought
I’d say goodbye
no more asking why
I know now you can fly
I wish you didn’t die
so soon
until we meet again
forever my best friend
I wish it weren’t the end
but for now
we’ll be alright.
