My name

Mason. One of the more basic names. But still meaningful.

Derived from the hard stone workers of the past. now used to name children. Mason’s would convey many ideas from their work. Strength. Reliability. Building or Rebuilding.

But This was not the intended purpose for my name. As being born I was barely able to live. The umbilical cord wrapped up tight around my throat like a noose. I had shown no sign of strength or Reliability.

However I still seemed to be dedicated to rebuilding and building.

I built hope for myself. Escaping the near death experience I had even just being born. I recovered quickly. This was a sign of strength and resilience. That I would not see until the future.

I built hope for my parents. Starting to become stronger my dad saw himself in me. Giving up was not shown in me. Struggle. I Struggled but I persisted. As today I am more perceived as the working Mason’s.

I built strong relationships. Work, School, Home life.  I have built the many foundations needed for friendships. Family. Teammates. Coworkers. I have shown reliability as these many foundations still exist.

And Sometimes they fall apart. But I am still here to rebuild when needed. Picking up the broken pieces of those who need it. Getting the job done when I need to. Pursuing the things I like. All of these are being done at the same time.

And that is me. Mason.
