Bruised and Broken Angel
I don’t care if you don’t love me,
Or you think I’m not enough,
I won’t let your words hurt me,
Or let them put me in the rough.
This is what I should say,
But not what I believe,
I’m not invincible or beautiful,
I’m broken and I’m weak.
I’m not strong or unfeeling,
I’m not without my fears,
I’m a bruised and broken angel,
With a heart made up of tears.
I wallow in self pity,
And I pick out all my flaws,
I’m feeling kind of empty,
They’ve stripped me of my claws.
I feel as if I’m worthless,
Although I play along,
I’m a bruised and broken angel,
With a bruised and broken song.
