daydreamer
deprived of sleep, but apparently all i do is sleep
accepting that i will never catch up, always two steps behind
you only have to worry about school they say, but it’s not
driving is my escape, only time i’m alone just with my thoughts
remembering that one specific day, yearning to relive it
escaping to the sound of the familiar voices and smells
and of course, i take the long way so this moment last longer
maybe if i could go back and feel that moment again i could-
eventually my bubble pops
returning to reality as i turn into my neighborhood.

I am just trying to get by, so I daydream. Until hopefully one day I don't have to daydream, I can open my eyes and see, smell, hear, and feel everything I daydream about. Just daydreaming as I wait.
