All We Can Do
No white man trusts him,
as soon as you hear the words "Licence and registration", not even a second into the man reaching for his wallet his life had already been taken
Not a single moment does the officer think about the man's family
Not a single second does he wonder if the man was an actual threat
Hearing the loud but silent prayers from a mother hoping her husband and children are safe at school and work.
Not knowing her husband knew that as soon as he leaves his home his life is on the line.
Not knowing her children would come home sticky and stinky from the kids at school treating them as if they were garbage.
The riots and demands for equality are loud enough for you to hear when you are six-hundred feet underground.
People say they have rights no matter the color of their skin.
People say they are equal to white man, but all I hear is a false statement that keeps getting repeated over and over
And all I can do is sit here and whine about how cruel our world is.
All I can do is read about these people's lives and wish it hadn't happened, But all we can do is sot and watch it all go down instead of stepping up and doing something to stop it.

It was originally a piece I had written for english class. But I thought it was good and I'm hoping like it.
