A Beautiful Gem
Your baby blue eyes indulge me,
The way your beautiful blonde hair
Sways in the wind,
Catches my very last breath.
Feeling your silky white skin against mine,
Like the silky sheets at home.
Knowing I was blinded,
Effortlessly awaiting for the day,
Until you become mine.
Unable to constrain the love,
That seeps from deep within.
An everlasting love that can’t be diminished.
I love the way you smell,
Like a beautiful white rose.
I love how you always wear my clothes.
You are so sweet and so caring,
I can share my darkest profound secrets with you.
You make me beam with everlasting joy,
Even on my most dreadful days.
You are the beacon in the night,
At the end of the gloomy downward spiral.
When I’m with you,
All my anxieties trail away.
The day I met you,
I knew I knew,
I loved you!

Dear poetry editor,
I hope you will consider my poem "A Beautiful Gem." I chose this poem because it deals with love and strong emotions; it may be something you find fits well with your theme or is rather interesting for next's month.
I'm a high school senior, and I don't really write poetry very often but the poem I have selected holds a lot of thought behind it. I feel that the poem can help benefit those that read it or inspire them to use emotions to write in the future.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Alicia
