Four Souls
1 - The Young Soldier
He was the first and last follower
of the King, yet he was always
told, “A child doesn’t belong in
war.” But when their flag set
aflame, he was still
first to raise his
sword, and the
last to
fall.
2 - A Boy Poet
“But what am I without you?” he asked.
My friend, my brother, my other
half, my partner in crime, my
ally, my family,
is what I wanted
to say. Instead,
I answered
him, “Your
self.”
3 - The Failed King
Thought he could make a place, where all could
start anew at their own pace. And
when challenged for this throne, he
found himself without a
nation of his own.
But if he could
not have it,
no one
would.
4 - A Regretful Traitor (There are two below, not sure which one to use)
Regret was not what he expected
to feel as he watched his friends die
by the swords of his allies.
Yet he took up his blood-
stained crown and proclaimed
with wild glee, “It
was never
meant to
be!”

This piece is about some characters I have followed in a story for months. It's my own words decribing these characters and what they face, and a couple phrases that call back to their famous lines. Hope yoy enjoy!
