Dear Mrs. Manternach,

            Hi, Mrs. Manternach. This is Karen Krazy, Sally Krazy is my daughter. I am writing to you today because I have a complaint. As you may know my sweet, determined, hardworking, and honest daughter Sally has come to me about her Composition I homework, and I have also seen it for myself. I get up at four in the morning for work and I can still see Sally’s light on in her room. Every time I ask what she is doing, Sally always says she is working on her Comp papers. Mrs. Manternach, you’re assigning too many papers with not enough work time in class. I believe my daughter when she says you give them no work time in class, so I do not want to hear you say, “I always give them worktime,” “she is always on her phone in class rather than doing homework,” or “she messes around in class” those are lame excuses from you as a teacher. My daughter gets on average four, or if she is lucky, five hours of sleep a night. Sometimes it is even less than that!! She has been a zombie lately due to homework assigned by you! Sally has also brought up she has a portfolio due towards the end of the semester. How is she supposed to get all these papers done in time for you? Sally is a human being, she has work, sports, and other homework to do at the end of the night. I am asking you to give the students more time in class to do their homework and to rethink the portfolio because her thesis paper is enough homework. If nothing changes and my daughter is not going to bed earlier, I will be contacting your head boss and have a little talk with them. Thank you for your time and I hope you take all my nice comments into consideration.

Dear Diary,

          Its Sally, I know you probably have not heard from me in a while, but I have been busier than ever! I miss my bed. I miss my eight hours of sleep. I look horrible with the huge and dark eye bags; no guy is going to want me! I do not know what to do! I cannot get a break from stupid Composition I. You have to understand how hard comp is to understand my feeling. I feel like I’m a zombie at school every day, if I really wanted to, I could be the new zombie in the Walking Dead, and I am not even kidding at this point. I have no energy anymore, Comp drains me. I did not think Comp would be this hard, but I was wrong. I also set myself up for failure so I have myself to blame but still Mrs. Manternach should not assign so much homework! I cannot see my friends anymore. I cannot have fun; I have homework to do instead. You might be wondering how I set myself up for failure, and it is because I did not use my time wisely in class. I did not think there would be too much homework, so I just pushed everything aside. Now I am really regretting my decision. The decisions I made are making me stay up so late, and now my mom is upset. When she is mad, she scares me, SHE EVEN SENT A LETTER TO MY TEACHER!!! Like what mom? That was so embarrassing because I bet my teacher hates me even more!! I just need to take a day to grind out my portfolio and thesis paper so I can get some sleep for once. Thanks for listening to me rant, it is 6:30 in the morning, and I thought there was no point in going to sleep.
