Take Flight
Life emerged from a tight chrysalis
The smell of teasels
The voice of the song thrush
A whole world to be seen
Only to be hidden in the brush
Peeking through the leaves
A planet of their dreams
Wishing to fly
Higher than the sky
They spread out their wings
To let them dry
Colors of red, yellow, and white.
Like an alluring kite
One flap of their wings
And then they take flight
Soaring through the air
Without a single care
All the while staying aware
For if they did not
They would be on the ground
If they had forgot
To not lose what they´ve got

This poem is inspired by a inkblot made by me in a STEAM project at my middle school.
