Just one hit; Taking your breath away 

Continuously coughing, the lingering burning in your throat 

The tickle that you just can’t shake. 

The sugary sweet  flavor; that blackens your lungs. 

With every hit there are consequences. 

Teens pressuring other teens to take a hit of a murderous trap. 

Many of them are put into hospitals, all over the country.

Many are fighting for their lives. 

When it starts off as a dare

That turns into a bad habit. 

Waking up in a hospital bed, no recollection of what brought you there. 

All of the nurses, lurking around you

Checking your pupils, seeing if they’re dilated. 

Running multiple tests, checking for underlying issues. 

From a few, dumb choices-

That could’ve been prevented 

Watching the deadly fog rise from your mouth. 

Trying to use the bathroom, but it’s full. 

The smell of fruity pebbles lingers in the open stall. 

The bitter taste of a burnt coil , so vile and overwhelming. 

The addiction you catch, 

That you somehow just can’t scratch.
