A better world

What we need is a waking
We spend our time excuse making
When the world should be quaking
At the difference, we are making
What we wish is ours for taking
If we just quit our faking
Truly see our brethren aching
Realise what we are staking
Notice Earth, in silence, flaking
Realise the need for raking
Hate, in hearts, silently snaking
Violence, wars, too firmly caking
Still, there is hope breathtaking
There are chains already breaking
Love and warmth certainly baking
Into change so ground shaking
A better world in the making
