I'm Me not You

Look me in the eyes, and tell me everything you have to say about me.
For years I have been building an enterprise of things that shape me.
So what makes you think you can cause it all to crumble down?
No matter how much you criticize, I will die knowing my self-worth and importance.
Don't be surprised when I rise above what is expected of me,
and become the main character of my own story.
Therefore, I don't need your approval to be at my highest.
I can walk through the street with dignity,
so what's your excuse for the hatred that you give.
