for legal reasons
for legal reasons
he didn't "rape" me
what he did wasn't "rape"
"rape" is going all the way
"rape" is what would be
if he did what he said he would
"rape" is when a man takes
a woman's innocence
sucking it out like a demented syringe
but it isn't always that way,
right?
for legal reasons
i wasn't "raped"
it was above the clothes
my cotton underwear
being the only thing that protected my purity
for legal reasons
i'm not angry
i can't be angry
because he didn't "rape" me
right?

this poem means a lot to me in a sense that it's about my biggest trauma. the man in question in this poem is my ex-boyfriend. this poem is about the aftermath. like how i feel and what i am thinking currently. this is my way of coping with this, and it's about time that i confront what happened, since it was over a year ago.
