Skateboard
The Skateboard
It was dark because of the night
I fell off a skateboard and I felt like I was in flight.
I fell and hit my head and all I saw was light.
I scraped my back and felt a mighty ouch.
I walked up the street and sat on a couch.
All I smelt was the pavement when I hit the floor.
The feeling of pain rushing through my body.
I looked at my shirt and it was all bloody.
I asked Jared if he would rush inside and grab me pain meds.
When I hit the ground a neighbor asked if I was good.
I shook my head yes and wiped off the blood.
The look on Jared's face was one I've never seen.
My arms hurt so bad they were paralyzed with pain.
I hurt so bad I wanted to scream.
But I hit the ground so hard I couldn't speak.
The ground knocked the wind outta me.
The pain was intense but so was my disappointment.
I walked into school with a wrap on my arm.
Everyone asked what's wrong but I kept my head down.
I've never felt so ashamed of myself.
