Anchor at the Bottom
Distorted truths, I was hemmed in.
Unconscious feelings; he linked to me.
Broken together, he sank my heart.
His boat rocked. I was the new anchor.
At rock bottom, hard truth hit.
I cut the rope; anchor no more.

This poem represents being stuck as someone's person; anchor. I wanted to express that sometimes you can get so carried away trying to be someone's anchor, that you don't realize that you are actually drowning.
At the end of the poem, I wanted to emphasize that in order to be happy again, I had to break up with him. And as hard as that was, I realized that I had to be my own anchor.
