Hard Times
The recent months have proved to be of great difficulty
It appeared that we were being attacked with such great cruelty
Trials and tribulations tested us all
However we can all say that we have yet to fall
We have remained strong, taking refuge in each other
Holding on to hope that soon our problems will blow away forever
We paid homage to all the loved ones lost
And celebrated the lives that they lived with eyes glossed
Yet life moves on, as it always does
Never skipping a beat, like a constant buzz
If we learn one thing from this whole experience
Let it be nothing too serious
Yet to be thankful for those little things in life
Because it is often those that relieve us of all strife

This is a piece that I feel very passionate about because it was inspired by the difficult times of COVID-19. However, I feel that it will continue to stay true throughout many time periods of many people's lives. The message contained within the poem is one that will apply to my life for many years and I hope that others can identify with the same message.
