Humpty Dumpty

I live

My life

Upon the wall

Teetring

Back and forth

I live

My life

Right here,

Right now,

Always alone

Facing north.

If I move

A muscle

Then I might

Fall

So I

Stay very

Still

The world

Could end

And I

Wouldn't blink

Alone

With my

Iron-clad

Will.

I wish

I could

Turn around

To see

The other side

Of the wall

But if I did

My toes would slip

And I

Would die

From the fall.

The winds

Blow

Like knives

On my skin

But I don't even

Blink

I'm hardened

and hollow

Like blown glass

I've been here for years

I think.

Down

Below

I see the

Countryside

Next to

The wall

The people

Look

Like little ants

And I

Can see

Them all.

One day

When I die

Wonder

Which way

Will I

Fall?

If I

Fall forward

I'll land

In the

Grass

Next to

The wall

But if

I fall

Backwards

I don't know

Where I'd land

At all.
