The Poem
The sound of forever on your lips,
Was a sweet melody to my ears,
You brought interruptions to my life; an eclipse,
But reminders of you were enough to assuage my fears.
Silly smiles, skips to my steps, dazed gazes,
You so easily burrowed yourself into my heart,
The echoes in my mind repeat your sweet, sweet phrases,
Now I am torn apart.
The emptiness you left is terrifying,
Your absence has left me so cold,
Sometimes I wonder what about me was so unsatisfying,
I had wished to beg, but how could I be so bold?
My memories leave me with pains and aches,
Sometimes I can still hear your breath,
Now all I can do is consider my mistakes,
Perhaps, we will be together again in death.
