My first race
14, the age I started racing.
I have been preparing for this moment.
If a person could be living their dream, it would be me.
To imagine myself behind that wheel winning first place,
I know those are extreme expectations for my first race.
I have my suit, equipment, everything soon,
I know someone would be nervous if they were in my shoes.
So when I put my shoes and gloves on I know I am almost ready.
Only a couple more minutes.
After putting my helmet on, I climbed into my car and fired it up.
It was time to get out there and show everyone what I have been planning on for years.
The race came to an end, no crashes, no dents.
I realized that i was in 1st place
The crowd began to cheer, my dad was so proud of me,
For his voice was the only clear voice that I could hear.
I am shaking, heart is pacing.
I climbed out of the car with a ginormous smile on my face.
I just won my first race.
