Trauma is good, right?
You called me names
You hit and kicked me
You treated me like trash
Like I was worth
nothing
You made sure i knew
That i didn't mean anything
That i was just,,,someone you can use
And I thought that was okay
-i thought you abusing me was okay
Because i was so in love with you
You are the reason i cannot trust anymore
You are the reason i hide myself
I was so confident
But you ruined that-
You ruined the way i saw myself
You ruined the way i thought about my worth
When i tried to leave
You showed me the bruises on my body
You said that i belonged to you
Until the bruises went away

This piece is about something that happened to me from 8th grade the 10th grade. I thought he was the love of my life and the relationship was very hard to get out of. I wrote this for the people who have been in my place. For the people who have had that relationship where they just hated everything about it.
This poem might be triggering for some people. Please do not read if you are triggered by abuse. Thank you.
