I’m from where the ocean water meets the sand,

From where people go hand and hand.

I’m from the pictures that describe our best memories,

The ones that will last for centuries.

I’m from the love and passion we have for each other,

From the love that we don’t have for any other.

I’m from the love and feeling you find for a special someone,

From wondering if they will be THE one.

I’m from the rise of being at your lows to getting back to your highs,

From the scars and bruises that define you.

I’m from the fun nights with your people on summer nights,

From those nights that everything feels right, 

The ones that you want to hold on to real tight.

I’m from enjoying every moment,

From every vacation and not worrying about that next payment.

I’m from worrying about what’s in front of you,

From not worrying about what you could’ve done differently in the past.

I’m from always enjoying your favorite foods and making the best of it,

From enjoying all the brands and clothes you get.

I’m from trying to make the most positives I can, 

From every negative situation, 

There’s a brighter side.

I’m from those special moments that you feel in sports,

From those feelings you get from the fields to the courts.

I’m from those feelings of being in the Big House seeing Michigan play, 

From watching their game,

Always making my day.

I’m from using sports for the greater lessons,

From making friendships and memories that aren’t based on first impressions.

I’m from the the places you travel, 

From the places you see.

I’m from the true beautiful things you see in this world.

From being grateful for every moment,

From taking it all in,

From the time you’re done in this world and especially when you begin.

And that’s where I’m from.
