I am not
I am not
By: Ella Vacek
I am a girl on the sidelines, cheering for the football team
Not to be confused with the stereotypical dumb blonde from all the movies.
I am a daughter who strives to make her parents proud
But I am not a puppet that can be controlled by their strings.
I am a straight-A student that works hard in her classes
Not to be confused with a robot who is programmed through copy and paste.
I am a friend to anyone who needs one
But I am not a toy whose emotions can be played with.
I am a high jumper who puts in the work to jump and clear the bar
Not to be confused with a robin who could fly right over it.
I am a future wife to someone I love
But I will not be a backup plan or afterthought when their original plan falls through.

I feel like everyone around me sees the stereotypical side of me, without truly understanding who I am on the inside.
