empty pockets
loose change on the floor
lint flying everywhere.
searching for that lost memory.
looking between the cracks of the floor
between her books
under the chair.
searching up and down
near and far.
looking for the best thing on earth;
that moment to be kept forever.
looking for it but never finding it.
between the covers,
his bed, not mine.
looking in the closet
in the drawer.
no where to be seen.
gone for eternity.
the memory of hope.
long lost
never to be found,
once again...
left alone.
