Home Sweet is in a Picture
A long way from home, miles and miles overseas, uniforms are worn with pride for all to see. Strong will power, work best in teams, these are the men and women who chose to leave.
However, behind the wall of stern faces, they all have a familiar weakness they share; their home sweet home is in a picture to have and to hold so close to their hearts. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard strong, we bless our soldiers for a safe return home.
Red, white, and blue they defend our land until they can come home and hold their loved one’s hands. Overseas, they hope to see home soon, but know they must do their fighting until their fighting is no more. Staying up late, we await for the phone call to hear the voices of our soldiers who we have not seen in so long. Packages sent give them a piece of home, for their home sweet home is in a picture to have and to hold so close to their heart.
Days to months, months to years, I countdown the hours till I see my precious soldier. I run to his arms that I have not hugged in so long. The tears fall down both our cheeks. Our family is finally back to being complete. Your home sweet home is no longer in a picture, but we dread the day you return to the field and our family is no longer complete. My dear brother we are proud of you and your decision. We love you and pray for your safe return to our arms. Bless you and your team for the courage to fight; your bravery will take you to great heights. We become more and more proud for who you have and will become, but please remember who you were and where you are from. You left overseas and now our family no longer feels the same. Your home sweet home may only be in a picture, but to us it means so much more.
