It all starts with a loaf,

A simple, yet plain delicacy.

One spread of mayo,

Couple slices of tomato.

Form the foundation for greatness.

Then a layer of cheese.

Which is guaranteed to appease. 

Next comes a mound of roast beef.

The amount will leave you in disbelief.

But then comes a slight slice of salami.

The taste will feel like a tsunami.

What's this? A hint of provolone.

So good, you forgot you were going home alone.

Yet again, more roast beef!

The sight alone causes relief. 

But all good things must come to an end.

So last, but not least, a sprinkle of lettuce. 

Which is an under-appreciated preciousness.

After all that, one last piece of bread.

With a sandwich, you can never be misled.
