Lost Within Existentialism
I am lost and curious
I wonder about the meaning of human life
I hear the tranquility of a forest
I see the wildlife scamper across the dense beautiful forest floor
I want a life unburdened by the invisible rules of society
I am lost and curious
I pretend to be satisfied by the structure of society
I feel the breeze of an ethereal life
I touch the hirsute moss on an old ponderosa
I worry that I am stuck in the flow of an unmovable river
I cry when the shadow of an unsurpassable wall weighs my shoulders
I am lost and curious
I understand the hardships of a life outside of society
I tell myself that it’s impossible, but
I dream of an uncorrupted forest away from the evils of men
I try to deal with the burdens
I hope for a life of bliss
I am lost and curious

I am eighteen and currently attending my senior year. As I look forward to my future choices, I question the reasoning and purpose. These feelings and the weight of society are what inspired me to write this poem.
