she screams through the stadium

she stops the bullet

with nothing more than her finger

her gold painted nail covering the hole that releases the bullet

she’s the only thing keeping me alive

i need her

but i want them

they’re the worst thing for me

they take my oxygen

they take my pride

they take my self worth and everything i love

i take them like pills

like drugs

as if i truly need them

i’m convinced that i need them but they’re killing me

it’s so hard

to choose between my savior and my demons

i know it sounds silly
