Celebrating Life

Dear Sophomore Year,

From the moment

I walked into school,

I knew that these years

Would be the

Best and Worst

Years of my life.

From the beginning of this year

I have become a new person.

I have become

A better person.

Life has shown me that there can be

Hatred, fear, love, passion

But also

Growth.

Terrible and amazing

Events I’ve had to

Walk through and learn from,

All making me who I am

Today.

As high school continues to

Fly by

—Pick me up—

Make me better.

There have been times where

I lost sight

Lost love,

Passion;

All the same

Change my life.

Make me better.

Leave the past

In the past.

Put the people

Who affect my day

Behind me.

For me.

Life is

Never easy.

Teach me how to

Live with such a

Hard pill to

Swallow.

If I’ve learned

Anything,

It’s that life

Isn’t

Permanent;

Life is a

Gift.

Continue to

Grant me with

That gift.

Show me how to

Grow more.

Stay with me

Through it

All.

—Pick me up—

Change my life.

Make me better.

Every day is a

New beginning.

Make sure I

Remember that.

No ones perfect.

Engrave

That in

Me.

Give me

Insight

Into

The good, bad,

Ugly.

Guide me.

Help me

Live in the

Moment

And

Never

Take life for

Granted.

Led me to

Move forward,

Stay strong,

Be kind and

Be the

Change everyone

Strives for.

Be my

Guardian angel

And my

Best friend.

Take my

Loss

And make

Love.

Build me

Up

So I can do the

Same

For others like me.

Others who

Need help

Yet are

Too

Afraid

To simply

Ask.

Help me help them.

—Pick me up—

Change my life.

Make me better.

This piece opens up to how to move forward after feeling loss and questioning ways to continue being yourself. In this it is expressed that change can be a powerful thing and doesn't have to change everything that has happened in the past.
