I Am From
I am from the long, cold, winters,
and the warm, comforting, air during the summer.
I am from drinking hot chocolate while wrapped in a blanket,
and sitting in front of the fire to get warm.
I am from sitting out in the sun and feeling the warmth on my skin.
From jumping into the pool and feeling the cool water splash against me.
I am from those late night bonfires with my friends and family.
I am from those dreadful school mornings,
and the weekend nights that I wish would never end.
I am from the good and bad times,
and tears of both joy and sadness.
I am from a caring family,
and never ending friendships.
I am also from the frowns and tears.
I am from the rough times,
and a faded smile.
I am from losing friendships that were thought to last forever,
and the loss of family members who will never be forgotten.
But in the end,
I am from the ones who told me they would stick by my side and meant it,
and the loving, supportive, family I am grateful to be a part of.
