Calm

Slumped on my bed
Silent, I hear
The rain fade to a stop
Right outside my window
And the slightest glimpse
Of the burning sun
Slices through my blinds
I pick my head up,
Carry myself to the window,
And draw the curtains.
Only to reveal the newly
Washed and cleared sky,
With a rainbow just behind
The fading clouds.
