Lake Date
The water shimmers, waiting to be noticed.
We run down the trail, excited to jump in,
Exhale sighs of relief.
The summer heat wraps itself around
our bodies like a warm blanket.
Picking the perfect spot was difficult.
So was weaving in and out of the families
That have slowly taken over.
The feeling of awkwardness waves over us,
But at the same time it feels right.
The little fish sped around our feet in the water.
I look over and see him, smiling from ear to ear.
Glancing down at the little fish kissing our feet.
At the time, I was oblivious to the dating world
But that Foys adventure made it worth everything
As spring creeps by and summer awaits,
I'm excited to go on more Foys dates.
