Pine Shore
The smell of apple fritter french toast fills the cottage as the sun rises
The coffee machine roars
But the serenity was undisturbed
Stepping into the kitchen to say good morning as we always did
The winds swept through the trees
I breath in deep
The crisp air fills my lungs
I look out to the water where you taught me many things
Patience, kindness, curiosity
But most importantly you taught me to appreciate the natural serenity of the world
As we know most of the world is in chaos
However you, you decided to build a place were serenity was real
This place was our serenity
Serenity could only last for so long,
the chaos swept through
Shaking our world
And it swept you away
I sway my feet back and forth through the water
Sitting here on the dock remembering you
How you were my everything
My grandfather
My cheerleader
My happiness
I begin to cry but not because your gone
Because of everything you have done for me
I never got to say thank you
Thank you for my serenity
As the sun begins to set
I gaze into the water where we once sat
And I feel serenity again
With a final tear I say
Thank you for everything
