Buying my First Computer
The window cracked, I awoke to screeching birds in the treetops outside,
Though I could have fallen asleep, I lay there, eyes wide.
Remembering the hard wok of the days in the past,
When sweat dripped from my face, after I cut all the grass.
One day a week after school, I would be found mowing a lawn,
Never knowing what I would spend my money on.
I sprang out of bed, ran to my secret stash,
Removing the big wad of cash.
A long drive awaits my mother and I,
I hated car rides, stepping in I began to sigh.
Before I could become anymore upset we had already arrived at Best Buy,
I took off faster than ever, feeling as though I could fly.
My eyes were fixated on the computer I had dreamed,
Through the glass the computer seemingly gleamed.
At the checkout I waited what seemed like years,
All I could hear in my head were echoing cheers.
The day had finally come that I worked for,
The time was flawless, nothing more.

This was inspired by my yearn in my early days for my first computer. I would work for my grandma who passed away recently and I will always remember her by this poem. I loved the day I bought the computer just as I did spending my days with my grandma.
