Poem

March 5, 2019
By Anonymous

Sculpted by master wordsmiths

Who cast their worlds in words

And wrought beauty from language

To share an intimate truth

Call them artistic mystics, if you like

Poets, if you don’t

Written with a journeyman’s map

A plan that marks and meters

One that winds and wanders in weird ways

But always gets there in the end

A nomadic schematic, if you’ll indulge

A rhyme scheme, if you can’t

The world seen through new eyes

that only words can capture,

carefully crafted concepts

ideas channeled into art

A prosaic mosaic, if you will

A poem, if you won’t

The author's comments:

When I don’t know what to write, I write about writing. It’s kind of pointless, but I had fun making it, so whatever.
