The Over Run Of Checks And Balances
We have checks and balances,
So our country can stay,
Without them,
Our country would stray,
Our nation would end up,
Without a ballot to vote,
And the right to talk about what we want,
We would lose all we have to flaunt.
Without our country this way,
We might not last another day,
We would lose all our say,
No one wants to live that way.
Our country would stray,
From our tradition,
Our democracy,
Our constitution,
Our government would crumble,
We’d turn into a rumble,
We’d all have to have an assembly,
We’d have to show what we want to be.
Our branches would be no more,
With no checks and balances,
They would just have to walk out the door,
Executive, Judicial, Legislative,
Congress would lose every veto,
Because the president would be number one.
Congress would just be done!
Without our country this way,
We might not last another day,
We would lose all our say,
No one wants to live that way.
We would lose our branches,
Our structure, our democracy, our constitution
Our president, our schooling,
Our congress, Voting, freedom, rights, laws,
This problem would not have any solution.
We would win worldly words,
But have nothing to show,
But that doesn't make us all foe.
Without our country this way,
We might not last another day,
We would lose all our say,
No one wants to live that way.
We all need our country to remain,
No one would put anyone in strain,
We are all one country,
All need to act upon or rights,
We have to be picky about our fights.
We need our separation of powers,
We have our responsibilities as citizens,
We’ve all put in hours,
All of us have what we need,
Now don't let anyone take over with greed.
We all vote for our congressmen,
We’ve put in too much to lose,
Now we all might have to choose,
Now maybe I’ll just read my rights,
And stop thinking about these sights.
We could have a war,
We could blow up any place,
We would have to hide our face,
But after the war,
We would restore,
Just like a flower on the first day of spring.
Without our country this way,
We might not last another day,
We would lose all our say,
No one wants to live that way.
