Kiss
smear
she left a stain
everywhere she went
applying it everyday before going
and every night before bed.
No one questions
the color that is her name
she turns heads, breaks hearts
and never looks back again.

This poem was also inspired by a journal entry, I like it because of the implication of the word ‘red’, although no words that reference heat or love are used to portray it, besides the title.
