Ode to My Mom
My mom is always there
Ever present, ever supportive
I can count on her
And she’ll be there
She understands me
When no one else does
She’s the voice in my head
When I’m doing something wrong
And when I do something right
Her congratulations rings in my ears
Unlike most mothers
She can’t wait for me to grow up
She understands that
We’ll only get closer with age
She’s done so much
Worked so hard
And I’m waiting for the day
When I can work even harder (if it’s possible)
To make her see
Exactly how much I love her
