Asking for a dog for years

A family friend giving up their puppy

Me and my sister filled up with cheer

I assure you we were so happy

After begging and crossed fingers

Finally our mom said yes

Our excitement grew stronger

Our plan was a success

Seeking and searching for the perfect name

“Sampson or Samson” my sister wondered, “which is the right one?”

Impatiently waiting until the day came

But the number of dogs were none

My hope began decreasing

Since this had happened twice

I made the conclusion that no dog was coming

But he did, and he was quite nice

A dog as small as a ladybug slowly exited his cage

With short white fur and a collar that was blue

So cute and happy at such a young age

We played with him, hugged him and named him  too

Fast forward to now as Dakota grows older

As glad and energetic as can be

He’s apart of the family now and forever

He’s here with the family and here with me

Our wish came true

We finally got a puppy

Long white fur and excitement too

I assure you we were so happy
