Your legs are dead,
sweat running down
your Forehead.
You want to quit,
but you try to push through.
You have a goal in mind,
to only get better,
You want to be the best.

Your body is telling you to quit,
but you tell yourself
 “keep going”
this is where champions are made.
Your jog looks more like a walk.
So, you get told to sprint,
and it seems like you can’t.
Instead you push through.

He says, “take a knee”,
You are finally done for the day.
You know you love it though.
 They are making you better,
You want to make it to state
Which means you have to
outwork everyone.
That’s what you do,
day after
day.

Dear Poetry Editor,

I am submitting my three poems for consideration to be in Teen Inc Magazine. They are in total 259 words.

I am currently a junior Bishop Heelan High School. I am a wrestler at Heelan and I plan on wrestling after high school. I am submitting this paper for my creative writing class.

Thank you for reading my paper.

Sincerely,

Mitchel Olson
