Favorite Quote:
So many people treat you like you're a kid so you might as well act like one and throw your television out of the hotel window.

― Gerard Way

If only he had come
Maybe then I wouldn't be so glum
He was all theirs and that's fine I guess
I just wish I hadn't gotten so mixed up in this mess

If only I had stayed
I could have come to his aid
They found him broken and lost
A man who had been crossed

If only his parents had been kinder
He would not have this constant reminder
That fueled his firey rage
Into oblivion, they set the stage

If only I was there to stop this disaster
Or maybe if the cops got there faster
At least one could have been saved
And come out unscathed

Finally, they took him away
Down the cold cemented hallway
Behind the bars of this institution
They hoped that he would find retribution

The author's comments:

I was inspired by my own thoughts on other teens and children who are constantly abused by their parents. All the while the parents are constantly the nicest people in town. Though it is suddenly a surprise when their child or children come out and talk about the abuse. Sometimes the child or children will have no one to turn to so they turn to violence and doom themselves in the process. I also had a friend who had abusive parents and he almost turned to violence. For me, this poem reflects what I think may have happened if I hadn't been there for him.
