The darkness
I remember a time when all I could see was the darkness of night
I strained to see where was the bright light
I went alone an endless road
Where I was told that all I was was a toad
Where was the helped that I had prayed and prayed for
Was anyone gonna see that I could offer more
When I reached for the stars, I always fell
Was there something more to tell
When I got told I was brave and should stay
I felt no one cared what I had to say
I was always told to be brave
But how was that going to save
Bravery is not facing something alone, it's not being unafraid
It doing things even if you are afraid
I went through a hard time, but I survived
Even better I thrived
The darkness that surrounds you
Is also in everyone else too
I can now stand tall
Even though I am rather small
I might feel like a thing
But I know now I can do anything.
So can you
Too.
