My Right to Life
Red like a stop sign
That’s what that map showed me
Warning me of all the things that I can’t be
Now that this country decided how to realign
So I watch them all take what’s mine
My right to life
My freedom to pursue happiness
As of now America is such a mess
They all want the right to their rife
Soon all they’ll be able to resort to is a kitchen knife

I wrote this for my creative writing class the night of the midterm election. The promp was to take a road sign or something about it and write with it. I chose a stop sign to begin with before the election results. This is just a spur of what was in my mind at the time.
