Typical Week
They were walking in silence. It wasn’t an awkward situation, it was comfortable, listening to the birds chirping, the cars zooming by, or simply walking on dried leaves hearing it crunch underneath their feet. The weather was nice, all bright and sunny, with a hint of the winter breeze on a Friday afternoon, both having their classes over for the week. They knew the following week was going to be hard, studying for exams and finals, finishing papers due, finalizing the touches for their project, and the effects of exhaustion made the weight on their shoulders heavier. Continuing their path to the shared apartment, they walked up hills and turned to roads that their body had memorized, not needing the help from the brain that was already creating a to-do list. They opened the door, the old age creating the creaking noises, and set off to work, each doing their own thing, getting ready to repeat the cycle again.
