The Lonely Flower
Lost and alone,
When I asked myself why
A knock at the door
Someone trying to pry
Words fall on deaf ears
Why do I feel the need to lie?
It hits deep, an arrow in the heart
A familiar face to keep my eyes dry
A hug and simple words
Almost enough to cry
Happiness creeps, a thief in the night
Stealing the pain and questions of why
Healing takes time no rushes needed.
Even if it seems hopeless it’s worth a try
I hear myself say these words now
And even if I’m no one, just another guy
They listen and respond
One Lost, alone, and shy
A blooming flower to be as bright as a rose
The pain moves on without a goodbye
It’s okay to remember and miss
But not okay to cry

I wrote this with a broken heart. It is about something that was incredibly close to me, even though the words hit deep.
