WOMEN, WOMEN
I am women
And I am human
I think, I weep, I ache, and I bleed
I. Am. A Women.
Now, watch the curves of my body sway before your eyes
Listen to the sound of my strut
Stride on the cement path at which you take
Hear the harmony of my soul radiate like the sun
See the shape of my body as it creates the womb
The womb in which you will live in
In which you will suckle the nutrients from
And this is the same belly and breasts
That you will then be repulsed to speak of
Listen!
Can you hear them?
Those people with their fragile minds and tender egos
Do they not know that we are women?
We carry the world on the edge of our backs
We can create life
We are the rib of Adam, of man
Yet, they think such terrible thoughts of how we form life
Well, then they do not know us.
We stand as mother, daughter, sister, and wife
We move worlds
Simply by our words, by our spirit
We are women
And there is no shame in that
We bleed
So that we can give life to this world
We breath and live
So that we can give that life to our own
We
Are the mothers to the world
(We) Sisters united
(We) Daughters of God
And wives to those who aid us with creation
So, why must we give an apology to be a woman
Or be shamed for how our bodies open, and nurture humans onto this earth
We were born with this thought that we are guilty of something
Just by the name we are called
“WOMAN”
But tides will turn
we will see ourselves be raised
with the strength of our power
Because, we are women
Proud! Unapologetic!
Standing as proudly as we are brave in the faces of those who challenge us

For this peice, I wanted to bring awareness to society that whether you are a female or male; showing equality and understanding of what womenhood stands for is essential in todays world becuase most poeple are ignorant to the subject, and to teach others through the use of a poem that womenhood is beautiful and females can make a differance with just speaking up and saying how they feel about their insecurties can be the most amazing feeling to give to yourself and others.
