As the curtains are drawn
As the curtains are drawn,
 The hardest day in history
 Comes to an end.
 The pain is significant,
 The tears won’t let up.
 I’m gasping for air,
 And coming up empty.
 I search for a light,
 And find only blackness.
I need somebody to hold me,
 To care for me.
But that somebody turned me away.
Mercilessly, coldly, like he had no heart.
 As the curtains are drawn,
 He all but says,
‘The show is over, say goodbye’
